FAQs

Find answers to common questions about STD testing, treatment, pricing, and privacy at Radiant STD Clinic.

A sexually transmitted disease (STD) is an infection that spreads mainly through vaginal, anal, or oral sexual contact. Many STDs are treatable, and some are curable with early diagnosis and proper treatment.

STDs are fairly common in Nepal however the exact national prevalence is lacking as many infections are asymptomatic  and many people do not get tested.

The most common sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in Nepal include:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea
  • Syphilis
  • Genital herpes (HSV)
  • Human papillomavirus (HPV) / Genital warts
  • HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Trichomoniasis

Many of these infections can have no symptoms, so regular STD testing is recommended for sexually active individuals

Both options are available. You can book an appointment through our website or WhatsApp for a guaranteed time slot, or you can walk in during our opening hours (Sun–Fri, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM). Appointments are recommended to minimize wait times.

Common Symptoms of STDs

  • Burning or pain during urination
  • Unusual discharge from the penis or vagina
  • Sores, blisters, ulcers, or warts on the genitals
  • Itching or irritation in the genital area
  • Lower abdominal or pelvic pain

Note: Many STDs cause no symptoms, so testing is important if you’ve had unprotected sex or think you may have been exposed

Most STD test results are available within 24 hours. Some specialized tests may take 24–48 hours. Our team will inform you of the expected timeline when your sample is collected, and results are shared privately.

If left untreated, STDs can cause infertility, chronic pain, organ damage, pregnancy complications, and increase the risk of spreading the infection to others, including HIV. Early testing and treatment help prevent these complications.
