VDRL Titer Meaning in Nepali | VDRL के हो?
VDRL test भनेको Venereal Disease Research Laboratory test हो। यो मुख्यतः Syphilis (भिरङ्गी) संक्रमणको screening तथा treatment पछि रोगको अवस्था follow-up गर्न प्रयोग गरिने blood test हो। नेपालमा पनि Syphilis test का लागि VDRL व्यापक रूपमा प्रयोग हुन्छ।
VDRL Titer भनेको के हो?
VDRL titer भनेको रगतमा VDRL प्रतिक्रिया कति dilution सम्म positive देखिन्छ भन्ने measurement हो। रिपोर्टमा 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16, 1:32 वा 1:64 जस्ता परिणाम आउन सक्छन्।
उदाहरण:
- VDRL 1:2 = low titer
- VDRL 1:8 = moderate titer
- VDRL 1:32 वा 1:64 = relatively higher titer
तर एउटा कुरा महत्वपूर्ण छ—VDRL titer मात्र हेरेर Syphilis को stage वा severity निश्चित गर्न मिल्दैन। Patient को symptoms, sexual history तथा अन्य tests सँग मिलाएर interpretation गर्नुपर्छ।
VDRL Positive भनेको Syphilis नै हो?
सधैं होइन। VDRL एउटा non-treponemal test भएकाले कहिलेकाहीँ false positive पनि हुन सक्छ। त्यसैले VDRL positive आएमा TPHA, TPPA वा अन्य treponemal test द्वारा confirmation आवश्यक हुन सक्छ।
Treatment पछि VDRL Titer किन जाँचिन्छ?
Syphilis treatment पछि VDRL titer घट्दै जान सक्छ। उदाहरणका लागि 1:32 बाट 1:8 हुनु भनेको चार गुणा decrease हो। Treatment response follow-up गर्दा एउटै प्रकारको test र titer comparison उपयोगी हुन्छ।
यदि VDRL titer अपेक्षित रूपमा घटेन वा फेरि बढ्यो भने doctor ले reinfection, treatment failure वा अन्य कारणहरू को evaluation गर्न सक्छन्।
VDRL Normal Range:
- Non-reactive / Negative → सामान्य (Normal)
- Reactive / Positive → VDRL reaction देखिएको; titer जस्तै 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16, 1:32 आदि रिपोर्ट हुन सक्छ।
महत्वपूर्ण: VDRL मा “normal range” भन्दा Non-reactive लाई सामान्य मानिन्छ। Reactive आएमा Syphilis confirm गर्न TPHA/TPPA जस्ता treponemal test र clinical evaluation आवश्यक पर्न सक्छ।
Syphilis Test तथा Treatment कहाँ गर्ने?
यदि तपाईंलाई VDRL positive, VDRL titer high, Syphilis symptoms, genital ulcer वा STD test सम्बन्धी समस्या छ भने विशेषज्ञसँग परामर्श गर्नु उचित हुन्छ।
